SATA 2017 Gala Dinner and Awards concludes, with Maldives receiving 24 Awards

One of the most prestigious tourism awards in South Asia region, South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), the 2017 edition of which was held in Equator Village, Addu City, concluded the awards and Gala Dinner on the night of October 28th.

For this year’s awards, a total of 450 service providers from the hospitality industry were nominated for 40 categories. The participating companies and organizations were from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal and Bhutan.

The host nation of Maldives received 24 awards and also received Visitors Choice Awards including leading beach destination, leading dive destination and leading honeymoon destination. Repeating participants of the awards, India and Sri Lanka received 7 awards and 4 awards respectively.
