Yazmeed Mohamed Appointed as New CEO of Pension Office

The Board of the Maldives Pension Administration Office has appointed Yazmeed Mohamed as its new Chief Executive Officer for a five-year term commencing on 23 August 2026.

The Pension Office said Yazmeed brings over two decades of leadership experience spanning public sector oversight, governance, auditing, anti-corruption, financial management, and investment. His career includes several senior executive positions, such as Vice-President of the Judicial Service Commission, Commissioner at the Anti-Corruption Commission, and Audit Manager at the Auditor General’s Office.

A Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA), Yazmeed holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and a Master of Business Administration from Open University Malaysia.

The Pension Office Board and staff noted that they envision enhanced organisational effectiveness and institutional governance under his leadership as the agency continues developing a sustainable pension system.

The Maldives Pension Administration Office operates as an independent statutory body established under the Pension Act (Act No. 8/2009). It oversees the nation’s pension schemes, administering the Retirement Pension and Old-Age Basic Pension while setting regulations to secure sustainable social protection.
