MTCC Successfully Completes V. Rakeedhoo Projects with President Solih’s Inauguration

HEP Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially inaugurated the Design & Build of V. Rakeedhoo Harbor Project & the V. Rakeedhoo Shore Protection project today. MTCC successfully completed the Design & Build of V. Rakeedhoo Harbor Project in March 2021 and completed the V. Rakeedhoo Shore Protection Project on May 2022.

The Design & Build of V. Rakeedhoo Harbor project was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure for a value of MVR 21.07 million. Under this project, the company conducted dredging and excavation operations of 16,960 cubic meters; constructed a 198-meter quay wall, a 156-meter breakwater, a 44-meter revetment, and installed 594 square meters of harbor pavements.

The V. Rakeedhoo Shore Protection project was contracted to MTCC for a value of MVR 10.21 million. The scope of works for shore protection includes the construction of a 40-meter groyne and a 200-meter breakwater. For the swimming area, MTCC conducted dredging operations of 560 cubic meters and constructed a 20-meter groyne and a 25-meter revetment.
