The ATM was inaugurated by BML CEO & Managing Director Andrew Healy who was joined by staff from BML’s Channel management and ATM management team. BML is the only bank providing USD ATM services in the country which was introduced in December 2014.

At the press conference held today, Deputy CEO & Director of Operations Mohamed Shareef said “This is an important step in our efforts to make banking easier for our customers. Since its launch, the US Dollar ATM service has been very well received by our customers. More than 645,000 transactions have been made through our USD ATMs in the last year. The total withdrawal amount also exceeded USD 220 million in the same period. These figures show a huge number of customers avoided visiting a branch to make US Dollar transactions.”

With a nationwide network of 31 branches across all 20 atolls, 78 ATMs, 4,000 Point of Sale merchants, 200 cash agents, 20 Self Service Banking Centres and 5 Dhoni Banking Units, as well as a full suite of Digital and Online Banking Services, Bank of Maldives is committed to supporting individuals, businesses and communities across Maldives.

‘Aharenge Bank’ is a nationwide campaign that underlines the Bank’s commitment to, and bond with, the communities and people of Maldives. The Bank recently announced that it would double its overall investment in communities to MVR 300 million this year.
