The first scheduled flight to Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo airport operated yesterday at 01:50 pm by Maldivian airline. The duration between Velana International Airport to Dhaalu Airport is 30 minutes.
According to the Managing Director of Maldivian, Abdul Haris, starting from yesterday, daily one scheduled flight will operate between Velana International Airport to Dhaalu Airport. He also added that depending on the demand for tickets, daily 3 scheduled flights will be arranged for operation before the end of this year.
Haris also revealed that the first flight which operated was fully booked. With the commencement of this new route, it will be tremendously convenient to the residents especially businessmen in Dhaalu Atoll, Haris added.
The price of a one-way ticket to Kudahuvadhoo from Male’ is MVR 888. $20 Million was spent on the development of this airport which comprises a 1800 meter long runway. Moreover, 62 hectares of land was reclaimed for the completion of this project.
